About "Lines"
"Lines" was a journal I started when I was in about the 7th grade. Many of the entires I have included in this archive were produced later in my life, but this is the only tangible collection of past thoughts and ideas I have, and it has been essential to the creation of this project. It feels a bit like code-breaking, making sense of some of these, but, as sensical or nonsensical as they are, they reveal something about the evolution and devolution of my thought with the passing of time. I am no great poet, author, nor playwright, and I am not attempting to assert myself as such. That said, going through these has been the most enjoyable part of this activity. I couldn't tell you why I decided to structure these as dialogue, as a child, but, generally speaking, I have kept with the tradition since.
A Thought Written in a Journal Titled "Lines"
Voice 1: “Time is the enemy”
Voice 2: “Time is many things: an enemy included”
Voice 1: “It’s nothing. A rhythm we assigned to existence.”
Voice 2: “Many things: nothing included”
Voice 1: “And because of it we become nothing…”
“This is all unoriginal you know”
Voice 2: “Truth always is”
